On June 13, 2018, this hospital was opened as a replacement for the previous State Hospital in Büyükçekmece, which was located on Büyükçekmece's shore. Mimar Sinan State Hospital was established in a convenient location and bears the name of the great architect Sinan, who left an indelible mark on the Büyükçekmece area through the historical structures he designed, which are still amazingly beautiful up to this day.
