Official data from the Turkish Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Exporters Assembly revealed that Turkey’s ship and yacht sector recorded exports exceeding $457 million in the first four months of this year, despite rising production costs.
This reflects the strength of Turkey’s maritime industries, offering promising opportunities for investors interested in manufacturing and marine services.
In April alone, Turkey’s total exports reached $20.9 billion, marking an 8.5% increase year-over-year. Total exports from January through April exceeded $86.2 billion.
The ship and yacht industry showed varied performance: $82.4M in January, $158.7M in February, $86.3M in March, and $129.8M in April.
Ankara contributed $3.87 million to sector exports. This growth is being further supported by specialized exhibitions.
Currently, the capital is hosting a Boat, Equipment, and Marine Accessories Fair, with 60 participating companies showcasing over 250 yachts and boats. Murat Aslan, CEO of “Arti Boat Show,” stated that their previous Istanbul event generated $550 million in trade volume, and they aim to reach $650 million in Ankara’s edition, underlining that such events play a crucial role in boosting exports and positioning Turkey as a hub for marine industries.
