Ahmet Hamdi Atalay, the General Manager of TÜRKSAT, announced that in-flight satellite internet services will soon allow passengers to stay connected with the world during their journeys. The service will first launch on AJet aircraft this year and will later expand to all Turkish Airlines (THY) flights.
Speaking at the 9th National Information Management Systems Summit, Atalay highlighted the massive technological advancements of the past 40 years, noting that data has become more valuable than gold and oil, with artificial intelligence expected to reach near-human levels by 2050.
Atalay also emphasized the world-class skills of Turkish engineers, pointing out that the domestically developed TÜRKSAT 6A satellite project has placed Turkey among the elite nations capable of producing their own communication satellites.
TÜRKSAT continues working alongside Turkish Airlines to offer fast and uninterrupted internet onboard, marking a significant technological and national achievement.
