Article content

In an effort to enhance transparency and protect investors in the Turkish real estate market, the Turkish Ministry of Trade has implemented a new Electronic Ad Verification System (EIDS) for real estate and vehicle listings. This system aims to prevent price manipulation, eliminate fake ads, and ensure legal transactions in the market.

Since the system was introduced on January 1, the ministry has conducted strict inspections, resulting in a 1.2 million TRY fine imposed on a company that published listings without verifying advertiser identities across two different platforms.

Currently, the system applies to rental property ads, but it is expected to expand to cover all real estate and vehicle listings. In the next phase, starting April 7, verification will include commercial property sales ads, followed by real estate sales ads and used vehicle listings gradually. By June 2, full verification will be required for newer vehicle models (2023 and above).

These measures reinforce the confidence of foreign and Arab investors in the Turkish real estate market, making property investment in Turkey safer and more stable.
