Istanbul Municipality’s Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) has announced significant increases in public transportation and taxi fares, impacting residents and investors alike.

  • The opening fare for taxis has risen from 30 TL to 42 TL, and the minimum fare for short distances is now 135 TL. The per-kilometer rate for yellow taxis has increased from 20 TL to 28 TL.
  • A standard ticket for public transport now costs 27 TL, while discounted fares are 13.17 TL for students and 19.33 TL for teachers and senior citizens.
  • Monthly subscriptions have also seen an increase, with student subscriptions now costing 381.37 TL and full-price subscriptions rising to 2,118 TL.
  • For the Marmaray rail system connecting Gebze and Halkalı, the full route fare has increased to 59 TL.
  • Metrobus fares have been updated, with the full fare now 40.68 TL, teachers and senior citizens paying 21.97 TL, and students paying 13.17 TL.

This price hike is expected to impact daily budgets, especially for students and investors relying on public transport for commuting.
