Istanbul is set to experience a significant drop in temperatures and heavy snowfall in the coming days. According to the Turkish Meteorological Department, temperatures could drop to -5°C, while snow accumulation may reach up to 10 cm, particularly in the northern parts of the city.
The Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has issued warnings about the upcoming cold wave, urging residents to take necessary precautions, as the sudden drop in temperatures could impact infrastructure and traffic.
As reported by Türkiye Acil, Istanbul will be affected by a cold air mass starting next week, with temperatures expected to decrease by 3 to 6 degrees abruptly. Snowfall is anticipated to start on Wednesday, with continuous snowfall expected until Saturday, leading to possible significant accumulation.
Such severe winter conditions could impact the real estate sector, as investors are increasingly looking for well-insulated properties with central heating systems, ensuring comfort during extreme cold weather.
