İGA, the operator of Istanbul International Airport, announced that the airport ranked first in Europe for air cargo volume in 2024, according to the Airports Council International report. The total cargo handled was 1.97 million tons, marking a 39.6% increase compared to 2023. The first phase of the airport was inaugurated on October 29, 2018, and the remaining phases are expected to be completed by 2025, increasing the capacity to 200 million passengers annually.
