On Monday, hot air balloons soared over the stunning landscape of Cappadocia in central Turkey’s Nevşehir province, adorned with Turkish flags and portraits of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, commemorating Youth and Sports Day and honoring the founder of the Republic.
The balloons, carrying enthusiastic tourists, lifted one by one into the sky, each basket draped with national symbols. The flight lasted about an hour, creating a powerful visual tribute to a day of great national significance.
May 19 marks the beginning of the Turkish War of Independence in 1919 and is celebrated annually by both Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Cappadocia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, remains one of Turkey’s top tourist destinations, famed for its fairy chimneys, underground cities, and a magical blend of natural wonders and ancient history.
