The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has announced an ambitious high-speed train (HST) project connecting Istanbul and Ankara, reducing travel time between the two major cities to just 80 minutes by 2034. This project is part of a comprehensive plan to expand Turkey's High-Speed Train (YHT) and rapid train (HT) networks, enhancing intercity connectivity and supporting economic mobility.
Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu revealed plans to increase the total length of YHT and HT lines from 2,251 km currently to 4,122 km by 2027, offering investors improved accessibility and economic opportunities.
The announcement also included updates on the Ankara-Izmir line, set to cut travel time to 3 hours and 30 minutes by 2027, the Halkalı-Kapıkule line linking Turkey to Europe via the Asia-Europe corridor, and the Istanbul-Bursa line, which will reduce travel time to just 2 hours and 15 minutes.
These infrastructure developments solidify Turkey’s position as a prime destination for real estate investments, offering enhanced quality of life and higher investment returns.
